Formerly
A second life before the first.
Formerly is a conceptual clothing project developed as a design exploration. It sits between branding, sustainability and material research – not as a finished product, but as an open framework shaped by ideas, tests and possibilities.

Context
Formerly explores the possibility of giving unused garments a second life – before their first. The project focuses on new but unsold clothing, originally destined for disposal, and on how design can intervene before waste happens.
It is not second hand. The pieces were never worn.

The Approach
Formerly is built around a declared re-branding: covering, but not fully erasing, the original identity of each garment. Traces of the past remain visible and become part of the story.
The project avoids production from scratch and works in small, limited batches. Material quality, functionality and memory coexist, without adding new layers of excess.

The Status
Formerly was developed as a design and research project, supported by extensive visual exploration, identity tests and mockups. Due to time and resource constraints, it was never brought into production.
For now, the project remains intentionally paused – open to future development, or to remain an idea.
